Before an account holder can receive a financial account, they must apply to your card product. This guide provides an overview of applications, statuses and results, and account holder documents.
Open application for account holder
An account holder must first apply to your card product to receive a financial account and payment card. You can open an application for an account holder from the dashboard using the following steps:
- Use the dashboard search bar to search for an account holder. For tips on using the search bar, see Using the Highnote dashboard.
- On the account holder page, click Open Application.
- On the open application tab, select a card product to which the account holder can apply.
- Click Open Application.
After an application has been opened, you will be redirected to the application page, where you can review the details, status, results, and applicant documents. You can participate in the application underwriting process with Highnote's collaborative application decisioning feature. For more information, see Collaborative application decisioning.
Application status
Highnote uses the following statuses to track the state of an application:
Application status | Description |
Approved | The application is approved. You can now issue a financial account for the account holder. |
Pending | Highnote has received the application and is running automated verifications. |
In review | A Highnote agent is reviewing the application to determine a decision or determine if additional information is required from the account holder. |
Denied | The application has failed one or more card product policies. You must notify the account holder and give a reason for the denial. |
Closed | The application is closed. Duplicate or errored applications may result in a closed status. |
Results
The results section of the application page provides insights into the verification results completed for an application. Depending on the type of account holder, this section will show results for Know Your Business (KYB) and Know Your Customer (KYC) verifications.
Additional documents
If an application is flagged for review, additional information may be required from the account holder. Applications are typically flagged for review because fraud is suspected or information provided appears incorrect. In these scenarios, the Highnote team will request additional documentation from the account holder to verify their identity and account details.
The documents section of the application page shows the requested documents and their status. The following statuses are applicable for document review:
- Approved: The document passed verification checks
- Denied: The document failed verification checks
