After configuring your reward earn and redemption rules and attaching them to a card product, your cardholders automatically begin to earn rewards. Cardholders can redeem rewards points for statement credit, or in a third-party rewards system using manual adjustment. This guide provides an overview of redeeming rewards using the dashboard.
Before you start
Before an account holder can redeem rewards, they must have an available balance in their "redeemable rewards points" ledger. To add points to this ledger, you must simulate cleared transactions. For more information on simulating transactions, see Simulate transactions.
Redeem statement credit
You can use the dashboard to redeem rewards for statement credits in the test environment. This allows you to test your rewards program and redemption configurations.
Use the following steps to redeem rewards for a statement credit:
- Use the dashboard search bar to search for your account holder. For tips on using the search bar, see Using the Highnote dashboard.
- On the account holder page, click the Financial Accounts tab.
- Click the name of the financial account to open the financial account page.
- On the financial account page, click More and select Redeem Rewards.
- Choose Statement credit from the redemption configuration drop-down.
- Enter the number of points to redeem in the redeem field. By default, the entire reward points balance is pre-populated.
- Optional - Add a note.
- Click Redeem Rewards.
To confirm the statement credit was applied, refresh the page. The statement credit is reflected in the available credit balance and on the activity tab.
Manual adjustment
Rewards programs using a third-party platform require the use of manual reward points adjustments to ensure the reward points ledger in Highnote reflects redemptions in the third-party platform. You can use manual adjustment for the following:
- Award points: Add reward points to rewards balance
- Deduct points: Remove reward points from rewards balance
Use the following steps to manually adjust a reward points balance in the dashboard:
- Use the dashboard search bar to search for your account holder. For tips on using the search bar, see Using the Highnote dashboard.
- On the account holder page, click the Financial Accounts tab.
- Click the name of the financial account to open the financial account page.
- On the financial account page, click More and select Adjust Rewards.
- From the activity drop-down choose Award or Deduct.
- Enter the number of points to adjust in the adjustment field.
- Optional - Add a note.
- Click Adjust Rewards.
To confirm the manual adjustment, refresh the page and verify the rewards points ledger reflects the adjustment.
